Qualify to obtain a valid Commercial Learner’s Permit (For four weeklong classes this will be obtained the first week of class)
Possess a valid DOT physical with medical card (this can also be obtained the first week of class for four weeklong programs)
Pass A DOT FMCSA 5 panel drug screen (marijuana, THC, cocaine, amphetamines, opioids, and PCP) this can also be obtained the first week of class for four weeklong programs)
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language
A high school diploma or GED is NOT required
All interested individuals must complete an enrollment application and be approved by an admissions representative at the school

Midwest truck driving has taught me a lot only going into the second week, there very hands on and you do it until you can’t get it wrong I highly recommend getting your cdl here if you want more of a hands on experience.

When I first started the program at Midwest Truck Driving School in Escanaba, the process was easy from the beginning. I spoke with a couple of recruiters over the phone, and when I tell you they followed through, they truly followed through. All the information packets and materials were sent to me ahead of time, and I appreciated how organized everything was. It made getting prepared and ready to start much easier.
On the first day of school, I’ll admit I was nervous, but I ended up loving the experience. The energy from the instructors was great. I do wish we could have done a little more upfront at times, but overall the pace of the program felt laid back in a good way. It gave people room to learn without feeling overwhelmed. The instructors constantly reminded us that this is a process and gave us the time and space to improve while also giving great tips along the way.
I would absolutely recommend Midwest Truck Driving School to anyone looking to start a CDL career. This transition into a new career path has been one of the best choices I’ve made, and I’m thankful for the experience and support they gave me throughout the program.

These guys are all awesome!! From start to finish it was an amazing experience! I knew absolutely zero about a truck, how to drive one, how to back with a trailer or trucking and now.. We went threw the CDL B training class .
They give you lots of information to pass youre test . As well as a any help with questions you may have . And ample time to study and get things right .

I had Bob and Frenchie for my class B CDL instructors, they were very knowledgeable, great teachers and very patient teachers, especially for someone like me who had no experience driving standard transmissions before. I learned a lot of valuable information.

I would like to say that on my very first day I had frenchie as my instructor. He talked, made you feel comfortable, he’s funny, definitely informational! I wanted to try out the manual but as soon as I knew I couldn’t he worked with me and put me into a truck I’m comfortable with (automatic).
