Qualify to obtain a valid Commercial Learner’s Permit (For four weeklong classes this will be obtained the first week of class)
Possess a valid DOT physical with medical card (this can also be obtained the first week of class for four weeklong programs)
Pass A DOT FMCSA 5 panel drug screen (marijuana, THC, cocaine, amphetamines, opioids, and PCP) this can also be obtained the first week of class for four weeklong programs)
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language
A high school diploma or GED is NOT required

They give you lots of information to pass youre test . As well as a any help with questions you may have . And ample time to study and get things right .
I had Bob and Frenchie for my class B CDL instructors, they were very knowledgeable, great teachers and very patient teachers, especially for someone like me who had no experience driving standard transmissions before. I learned a lot of valuable information.
I would like to say that on my very first day I had frenchie as my instructor. He talked, made you feel comfortable, he’s funny, definitely informational! I wanted to try out the manual but as soon as I knew I couldn’t he worked with me and put me into a truck I’m comfortable with (automatic).
This school was great. From the director to the instructors, to the ladies at the desk that make it all happen. They all care about your success. Would recommend MTDS to anyone looking to get their CDL.
Midwest Truck Driving School is a great school with some really good instructors who are very knowledgeable and care about you succeeding in life and your career. All the information you need is giving to you from day one and throughout the course. Josh is a very good school director and goes out of his way for all the students to make sure you don't fail and if you have any issues he definitely will fix it or help you understand it. Dave is my instructor he's very knowledgeable and he does a really good job going over everything and making sure you understand, and as long as you listen to him you will be successful. Don't let me forget Kat, Courtney and Ian who keep everything running smoothly in the office and are some awesome individuals who go out their way to help the students. I would definitely recommend Midwest Truck Driving School if you are interested in obtain your CDL. Best Decision Ive made!

This school is very fast paced but it helped me learn very quickly. You learn hands on skills right away and everything you learn is used in real world situations. I would highly recommend this school to anyone interested.

The atmosphere here is amazing. Very laid back, but structured in a way that gives you a good idea of how the trucking industry works. You’re required to be driven to ask questions and not wing it, because the knowledge here is abundant and you’ll only be shorting yourself if you coast through.
My Class B instructor was Frenchy. He’s got a great personality and approaches learning about the trucks directly hands on, lets you make your mistake and then explains how to improve on it. If I suggest any instructor, it would be Frenchy.
They pack in a lot of good knowledge within 4 short weeks. All the instructors, but especially Bill, are knowledgable and want you to pass your State exam. Over all a good experience and looking forward to putting on miles soon.
Midwest Truck Driving School is a great place to get your class A CDL. From day one I could tell what a Great Organization that MTDS is. Josh did most of our class room work and he made it fun and easy to learn. Bill was my in cab instructor and he made learning to drive a semi incredibly easy. He has a very unique teaching style! He has a long list of quotable quotes but the one that hit home for me was on my last day when I had a little trouble driving and he said “Look in your rear view mirror, that’s behind you. See how big that’s windshield is that’s what’s in front of you!” I highly recommend Midwest Truck Driving School!!!

Midwest Truck Driving School is a great school to attend. I feel the 4 week class A CDL course covers everything you need to know in the time of the class. They do a great job taking the time to make sure everyone is understanding what they are teaching. I had Bill as an instructor and he did a good job teaching us the maneuvers, pre trip inspections and driving/shifting. He had a great attitude everyday, our crew laughed all day everyday. A quote from Bill “I could’ve licked the sticker off his license plate you were so close to him.” He let us know when we were doing something wrong but always found a way to make us laugh while doing so. I highly recommend Midwest Truck Driving School.
I recommend midwest trucking school for anybody trying to get their CDL. They do a really good job they teach you everything you need to know about truck driving. It’s a Really great school.
